Rant and Rave - Miami Carnival
DysChick & SocaSaySo RANT about whether Miami Carnival is a level playing field for soca. This is the time that we can hear music from the year's biggest Carnvials and new music. Since there is no competition or "Soca Mafia" influencing the deejays, socaholics can hear their favorite tunes - even from small islands. So does soca even need to follow a Carnvial schedule? How does that impact what we hear? We also ask you, the listener, to settle a debate. Which song will be THE song for Miami Carnival: "Nasty Up" by Problem Child or "FATTT" by Nadia Batson?

We saw it happen on Labor Day in Brooklyn and now it appears there is a major promoter planning a party for the same time as the Miami Carnival parade. Is this the new normal? Then we RAVE to a new song from Bahamian artiste Dyson Knight.
